As of yesterday I have officially enlisted in the US Air Force. I did my physical and my enlistment processing, and passed with flying colors(not like it's that hard to do.) I also discussed jobs with a recruiting sergeant and I'm most likely going to be an aircraft mechanic.
here are my top five jobs I picked:
1.)Aerospace Propulsion Apprentice - perform maintenance on jet and aircraft engines.
2.)Aerospace Maintenance Apprentice - perform routine maintenance on jets and aircraft, fill with fuel, liquid oxygen, top off fluids, service hydraulics, etc.
3.)Munitions Systems Apprentice - Load missiles and ammunition on combat aircraft
4.)Aircraft Fuel Systems Apprentice - perform maintenance on aircraft fuel systems
5.)Tactical Aircraft Maintenance - same as regular maintenance, just with more specialized aircraft.
I'm really excited about this. These jobs are going to be unlike anything I have ever done before. I have to make it past basic, but I've been working out and getting in shape so the shock won't be so bad when I arrive. My dad also lined up an office job at des moines asphalt starting tuesday, so I'll have some income finally! I'm hating being single right now, and I've caught myself missing susie a few times. It's hard, but I've been trying to put her out of my mind and move on.
